8th Annual AIMS Conference

March 28-30, 2010

Embassy Suites Washington, D.C. - Convention Center

Be an advocate for health care simulation.

Mark your calendars for March 28-30, 2011, and register now for the 8th Annual AIMS Conference in Washington, D.C., at the Embassy Suites Washington, D.C. – Convention Center.  The AIMS Conference brings health care simulation experts to Washington to learn about advocacy and meet with members of Congress and their staff.  This year’s conference will focus heavily on advocacy for health care simulation, and what you can do to educate decision makers about the value of health care simulation.  Presentations will include state and federal advocacy campaigns, federal agency updates on simulation in the government, media advocacy opportunities, and of course, we will prepare you to be advocacy experts for the final day of the conference on Capitol Hill.

If you have never been to an AIMS conference and do not have any experience with advocacy, don't worry!  This year we are offering several highly demanded Legislative Advocacy 101 Sessions during the new pre-conference option on March 28th.  The pre-conference option will include an introduction to advocacy and grassroots, a 101 “mini class” on how Congress works and what to expect when you visit the hill, and a panel discussion with “advocacy experts” to explain first hand the impact of talking to your members of Congress.  After you participate in the advocacy pre-conference, you will be more than ready to walk the halls of Congress and meet with your Representatives and Senators.

The full conference session will kick off on Monday night with our opening key note presentation, followed by the signature AIMS networking reception.  The AIMS networking reception is a great opportunity for attendees to “meet and greet” other health care providers, vendors and industry representatives, and experts in the field.  We are also pleased to announce that we will once again host the AIMS Sponsorship Dinner on Tuesday, March 29th, exclusively for our sponsors.  If you are interested in getting more involved with AIMS and our advocacy efforts to advance health care simulation at the federal level, please think about joining AIMS as a sponsor.  To learn more about becoming a sponsor, please visit http://medsim.org/sponsors/sponsorship.php
.

On the third day of the conference we invite and encourage all participants to join us on Capitol Hill to meet with your members of Congress and their staff.  AIMS will schedule all of your Hill meetings for you between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM.  This final day is an exciting opportunity for you to put to work the skills that you have learned over the past two days in the advocacy training sessions.  Don’t worry if you have never been to Congress before.  AIMS staff and representatives will prepare you every step of the way!

If you have any questions or would like more information about the conference, please email us at
info@medsim.org or call 202/230-9091.  Also, if you are not already on our mailing list, we encourage you to take a moment now to join.  You will receive free, important conference updates, information on sponsorship opportunities, special offers on discounted registration, and other fun give-a-ways!  Don't miss your chance to enhance medical simulation initiatives.  Come to Washington to make your voice heard!
